India’s Independence day celebration is on 15th August. As a part of the celebration, I started experimenting in my kitchen with different skin recipes keeping the Tri Color in mind. I chose ingredients that not only matched our flag but experimented on how a mix of these could be beneficial for our skin. In the national flag of India the top band is of Saffron colour, indicating the strength and courage of the country. The White middle band indicates peace and truth with Dharma Chakra. The last band is Green in colour shows the fertility, growth and auspiciousness of the land.
1st colour– I am using a Pumpkin, since it’s suitable for all skin types, particularly environmentally damaged or sensitive skin. Pumpkins are rich in vitamins A, B, and C, each of which offers important nutrients for your skin. Vitamin A helps your skin regulate its cell growth and most importantly it also helps rebuild skin tissue. If your skin has become dry or scaly, the vitamin A in pumpkins should be just what it needs to reverse this damage. Vitamins B and C also benefit your skin by helping to prevent acne and working as a powerful antioxidant to keep your skin supple and soft, respectively.
2nd Color– Did you ever wonder how an ingredient that makes your dishes delicious can nourish your skin and make it supple? Coriander naturally packed with antioxidants, vitamin C, antiseptic, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. These renowned agents prevent free radicals that are affecting cell membrane and fades dark spots giving you a spot less skin.
An alternatuve to coriander leavea is Neem leaves- India’s very own antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antiseptic superhero. It has been said that neem also delays fine lines and ageing. It contains Vitamin C, which helps in getting rid of skin problems like blackheads, pigmentation, dullness and aging, thus leaving the skin with a youthful glow.
3rd Color– Lactic acid in Milk will help reduce pigmentation, heal dry skin, hydrate skin, heal acne and relieve sunburn.
